Publication Design
The goal of the project was to represent the importance of woman in the history of America. All excerpts are from the book They Fought like Demons by DeAnne Blanton. Since the intent was to celebrate women the aesthetic relates to womanly connotations of the period. All images are my original etching as was the embroidery which I created on a digital embroidery machine. The primary reason for using embroidery was to explore the duality of womanhood in a brutal part of history
