The assignment was to build a letter form from shapes. The letter I chose was A, I wanted to explore how the letter consists of a triangle and lines.
This project was to take an organic object and turn it into a stylized symbol. The form I chose was a seahorse, it is a creature that can be made in many different ways. In this project I explored the various ways to build a seahorse, the life form has many shapes within it. I wanted to find different ways to simplify and stylize its makeup
Another project was to make a symbol family. I made a series of objects that would be needed for a child’s first day of school. All of the items are very round. This was to convey the idea of the objects being child friendly. I wanted to explore making objects out of solid shapes and outlines. To maintain consistency the shapes are primarily outlined with a main feature of the object being solid.
